Explore a flowing, three-dimensional moving meditation to clear stagnant energy, release stress and recentre in body, mind and soul. Join this opportunity to learn through experience how movement can help bring the body back to balance at a cellular level.

Who is this event for?

The Hormone Balancing with Qigong workshop is an immersive and interactive event for those who feel called and curious to better understand the role they can take in their own sense of health and wellbeing at all levels of body, mind and spirit. 

This workshop is for you if:

  • you are ready to release stress and tension
  • you experience chronic pain or fatigue
  • you are recovering from injury, illness
  • you have a hormonal imbalance
  • you have chronic back pain or stomach aches
  • you want to feel empowered by your natural healing ability
  • you experience anxiety &/or depression
  • you’re curious to learn qigong

This workshop is open to anyone. You don’t need to have done qigong before and you don’t need to be bendy or strong or anything other than open minded and curious.

What you’ll learn…

In this workshop you will be guided through patterns of movement and focused awareness that encourage a feeling of groundedness and allow you to become more in tune with the levels of your being (mental, emotional, physical and spiritual). You will be able to take what you learn with you and integrate it into your own practice beyond the workshop.

You will learn how to:

Hormones 

Hormones are your body’s chemical messenger system. One of the ways information gets around your body and signals what’s going on and what needs to be done. Hormones travel throughout the body through the bloodstream and nervous system. Hormones are created inside you, by you in your brain, your gut and various glands like the adrenals, thyroid and pituitary etc. This messaging system works via cascaded chemical signals that connect with eachother like puzzle pieces and make changes at a cellular level in your tissues and organs.

Essentially, YOU are the O.G pharmacy! We’ve either forgotten how to tune in to the messages our body is sending us all the time to help us keep things in balance or we know for certain that something feels ‘off’, we’re just not sure what to do about it.

Imagine your body responding to stress as if you need energy to run or fight from a fatal threat, but you do neither because you don’t want to physically fight or run away from your boss, your family, that deadline or whatever else isn’t going to kill you right now. The thing is, your nervous system can’t really tell the difference between the stressors we face today and the presence of a hungry saber toothed tiger that our ancestors had to deal with. For most of us, we haven’t yet learned how to process and let go of the stress that has accumulated inside.

The answer to this is awareness, intention and movement – I bring you qigong, where the key to balancing hormones is releasing stress through harmoniously flowing movement where the cells of the body can move together and one by one. Harnessing the power of movement is a powerful tool to balance at all levels of the body: mental, emotional, physical and spiritual. 

Through flowing moving we can:

  • Focus the mind
  • Improve blood flow
  • Stimulate lymph drainage
  • Drop into meditative movement 
  • Regulate breathing
  • Balance the nervous system
  • Make our cells feel safe
  • Release stress

When your nervous system feels safe, it sends more blood to your organs and stress hormone signals can cease sending the body out of survive mode and back into thrive mode. 

Qigong

Qigong can translate as energy work. It’s an ancient Chinese form of yoga that boosts blood flow and qi (energy) circulation. By focusing the mind, connection to your cells, blood flow and qi flow increases. The repetitive and flowing movement has endless health benefits. 

Mindful movement creates a tangible inner harmony of the cells. You can see this in dancers that appear beautiful and captivating in their movement. They move to an energetic rhythm which looks so enchanting because their cells are moving harmoniously and the mind is momentarily released to flow with the body in unison. The mind is fully IN the body and stuck energy is released. Qigong works in similar way. When we gently and intently move through our bodys and our cells move in harmony we can create a beautiful feeling inside that will inevitably radiate outwards.
